How to Nominate:
If you would like to nominate a colleague for an MAEA State Award, send your nominee the link to the Standardized Vita AND a letter of nomination. Nominees submit the final award google form.
The objectives of the MAEA Awards Program are:

To recognize excellence in the many outstanding individual members of MAEA;

To focus professional attention on quality art education and exemplary art educators;
-
To increase public awareness of the importance of quality art education;
-
To set standards for quality art education and how they can be achieved; and
-
To provide tangible recognition of achievement, earn respect of colleagues, and enhance professional opportunities for MAEA members.
Awards Eligibility: Art Educators must be an active member of the Maryland Art Education Associate (MAEA) to be eligible for consideration.
Qualifications: To be considered* for each award you will need:

a completed VITA (google form)

a letter of nomination
-
a letter of support
-
a photograph (a headshot)
-
any accompanying documents pertaining to your award nomination
*Incomplete nominations will not be considered. Immediate family members (spouses, children, parents, siblings) may not nominate other family members for awards.

New Award Categories:
There are new awards this year! In an effort to increase educator recognition within the awards program, MAEA has aligned more awards with the NAEA award booklet as well as created awards in areas that will allow for more opportunities of inclusion.
